The Best Yoga Studios in London (Tried and Loved by Us)
Our Thoughts
Being South Londoners, our compass naturally points south. But we’ve made sure to include at least one great studio from the north, east, and west too.
London is blessed with an abundance of incredible teachers and stunning studios. While we know there are plenty more out there, these are the ones we’ve built genuine connections with - spaces that have shaped our practice and our teaching.
Soph and I have each been practising for nearly a decade, and what started as “date nights” have often turned into yoga adventures - hitting up a new class, then grabbing a pizza and a glass of wine afterwards. The class always came first, the hangout second.
So, here are our top shout-outs to the best yoga studios in London. Enjoy, yogis.
South London Yoga Studios
Basic Space (Stockwell & Camberwell)
This one will always hold a special place in our hearts. It’s where I had my first membership and where Soph landed her first studio gig, developing her signature slow-flow classes. The space has beautiful aesthetics, top-notch teachers, and a wholesome community vibe. Jaime Hepburn has built something really special with Basic Space, hosting regular community and creative collaborative events not to be missed. We’ll always love the OG in Stockwell, but the new Camberwell spot is seriously sleek (and yes, it even has a reformer room - fancy!).
Yogarise (Peckham)
Based in the Bussey Building, Yogarise has a grounded, earthy energy and a seriously high level of teaching. The range of classes will keep you inspired, and the vibe is always welcoming. It’s not our regular due to location, but we love dropping in when we can. Keep an eye out for the workshops they host - we’ve done some brilliant inversion sessions here, and the calendar is always packed with fun, creative extras.
Hotpod Yoga Brixton
Our rainy-day home. Nothing beats a sweat in the pod when the weather outside is trying to bring you down. Colly, the manager, is a kind soul who’s built a brilliant community. I’m very proud to share that I’m now part of the Hotpod Yoga Brixton teaching team and will be back there next summer. Expect moody lighting, heavy tunes, and the delicious heat of the pod. Our go-tos: the Sunday evening Nurturing Flow or a Signature Flow with Colly himself. This place has saved us from many a hungover weekend.
YogaHaven (Clapham)
A great, welcoming space with a strong sense of community and fantastic teachers. YogaHaven’s hot yoga classes are excellent - one of the few studios besides Hotpod that we actually go to for heat. They also offer reformer sessions for those wanting a little extra burn! Bonus: it’s surrounded by cosy cafés for that perfect post-class coffee.
East London Yoga Studios
Mission E1 (Aldgate East)
Bursting onto the scene a couple of years ago, Mission hasn’t missed a beat. Soph and I went for our first class when it was still half under construction, and even then, it was brilliant.
Yes, it’s a little East London-cool, but behind the polished surface lies one of the city’s best yoga spaces. The main room can hold 75+ people moving in unison, and there are multiple other studios across its four floors. My personal favourite is Marcus Veda’s 4Beat class (I’ve recently trained in it and can’t wait to share it with you all). From 4Beat to yin to calisthenics, Mission offers a huge range of classes and styles.
If you like something more creative, check out David Kam’s Beyond Asana - his smile alone makes the class worth it. And when you’re done, hit the sauna downstairs for the ultimate finish.
Kindred Yoga (Deptford)
Technically more southeast than east, but throwing it in here to balance our South London bias. Kat and Jules have created a mighty community, and it’s where I earned my stripes as a teacher. If you’re after a fiery flow, Kat’s Rocket or Mandala classes will light you up. The studio is filled with plants, grounded energy, and good people. I couldn’t recommend Kindred higher.
North London Yoga Studios
Samaya (Islington)
Samaya is a beautiful space with a genuinely authentic feel. The welcome is warm, the teaching is top-notch, and it’s one of the few studios we’d go out of our way for when up north.
Home (Primrose Hill)
Home is newer studio with gorgeous wooden floors and a solid lineup of teachers. I’ve only been once, but it feels destined to become a London favourite. Check out Nino Russo on the schedule - hands down some of the best adjustments you’ll receive.
West London Yoga Studios
Love Supreme Projects (Notting Hill)
If you’re out west, this one’s a gem. We joined a breathwork session here at Love Supreme Projects and were blown away. I believe it was once an old church - either way, it definitely feels biblical in the best sense. I’m also a sucker for a good brand, and I love their logo. Once you see it, you’ll know what I mean.
Our Personal Favourites
Josh’s Pick
Marcus Veda’s 4Beat at Mission on Wednesday evenings. If you can, stack the 45-minute yin class before it, hit the sauna after, and grab a Salad Project on the way home. Life doesn’t get much better.
Final Thoughts
London’s yoga scene is thriving - from hot pods to earthy lofts and reformer hybrids, there’s something for every yogi. These are just the studios that have left their mark on us.
If there’s a space you think should make the list, send us a message. We’re always up for rolling out the mat somewhere new. Thanks for reading, Josh & Soph.
